Previously on ioMMO, we had an arcade section.  This area was intended only for entertainment purposes, an extra time killer you could say while waiting for features to unlock on the website.  A team member brought it up to us that we should instead construct a database from these arcade games instead of just having the playable portal, and so you have the idea that seeded the launch of our arcade database.

So what's different about an arcade portal and a managed database?  You'll notice that there are two sections for arcade games now.  The database page, and the arcade portal.  Both of these areas link to the same page in which the games are located on, but each with a unique approach.  The database is intended for research of games, while the arcade portal is intended for users who just want to browse for games to play.  The database will function exactly as the MMO database does, and the portal will be the starting point similar to any other arcade site.

With this double duo, we hope to build a well organized and easily readable database, and an entertaining alternative for users who want to visit the website to just play games.  Here's what's coming up.

• Daily updates, games will be added for users to play on a daily basis.
• Every game will be added by hand.  This will ensure all games are working prior to appearing on the website.
• All games will be in English for our target audience.
• All games will allow for members to rank them, giving insight on whether the game is good or not.

By daily updates, we do mean they are being imported automatically from Mochi Games.  The games that are imported will not be available immediately, since we will inspect each game individually prior to publishing on the viewable website.  We will work on the database as often as possible to get these games available to our members.
